Lisa is an award winning author of children's books and a pediatric speech-language pathologist. Her debut picture book, Katie Spector the Art Collector was released in September 2021 with Charming Books Press and was followed by, Terrance the Hothead in March 2022 by The American Speech Language Hearing Association Press (ASHA Press).
While other kids were out playing soccer or acting in the school play, Lisa was dreaming up stories and poems. Her grandfather was never without a pencil and slip of paper. He fostered her love of books and writing. When he came as an honored author to Lisa's third grade class, her dream of becoming a writer was solidified.
Most of Lisa's stories revolve around community, family and self-acceptance.
Lisa attended University of Maryland and later pursued her Masters of Science at Northeastern University. She has worked as a pediatric speech-language pathologist for over a decade. Lisa is on faculty at Westport Writers Workshop where she offers classes on writing books for young readers. Lisa loves watching her students of all ages learn, grow and build their confidence.
Lisa loves having adventures with family. Along her travels, she often finds small book stores and loses her self among the stories. She recently set up a free little library for her neighborhood. Lisa lives in Connecticut with her husband, two kids and dog Crouton. In the summer months you can find her kayaking down the river or catching hermit crabs at the beach.
